For anyone out there who’s had his hands full at playing around with NAP (Network Access Protection), it was a joy to realize that 802.1q VLAN tagging is now configurable in a snap.

However, it is regrettable that Microsoft did not take the features one step further by adding support for 802.1x (Port-based Network Access Control*) authentication with NAP technology; as I painfully realized, trying to setup a test lab for NAP 802.1x enforcement.

Let’s hope that this will be part of the next features stream…
